HOME HEATING ASSISTANCE STILL AVAILABLE
Des Moines, Iowa – State Representative Bob Kressig of Cedar Falls said today that assistance is still available for Iowans who need help with home heating costs through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP.
“While the winter season is nearing an end, families who are struggling to make ends meet or have fallen behind on their heating bills can still get assistance. Iowans shouldn’t have to choose between food and prescription drugs or keeping their home warm,” said Kressig.
LIHEAP assistance is based on annual income and families of all sizes may apply. For example, a family of four with an annual income of $33,075 or less is eligible for assistance and single Iowans with an annual gross income of $16,245 or less are also eligible.
