RAGBRAI® XXXV – Live Large at the largest RAGBRAI event ever
It’s official – the Cedar Falls overnight stop for RAGBRAI® XXXV will be the largest ever. How could it not be, with the combination of Lance Armstrong, Blues Traveler, The Nadas and everybody’s favorites, Bob Dorr & The Blue Band?
It was announced last week that a special event benefiting the Lance Armstrong Foundation and featuring rhythm and blues legend Blues Traveler will begin at 6 p.m. on July 25 in the UNI-Dome. The Nadas will be the opening act and Lance Armstrong will speak from the stage between bands. Tickets are required for this event and proceeds will go to the LAF for its work in fighting cancer, with a portion to remain in the Cedar Valley.
Balancing renowned musicianship with accessible songcraft that blended pop hooks with blues- and rock-influenced grooves, Blues Traveler's rep grew for its explosive live performances. In 1994, the band released "Four," an album that featured the hit singles "Run-Around" and "Hook." They picked up a Grammy for "Run-Around" and "Four" went multi-platinum. After eight albums, six gold or platinum plaques and sales of more than 10 million discs, Blues Traveler is seeing a resurgence in popularity.
The outdoor beverage garden will feature Bob Dorr & The Blue Band, The Nadas will play outside again after the indoor concert and the evening concludes with Wagg. Craig Laue of Cool 105.7 will be emcee.
Tickets are $10 for each registered RAGBRAI rider and $20 each for the public. “Our goal is to fill the UNI-Dome,” said Steve Carignan, Cedar Falls RAGBRAI co-chair. “At these prices we expect tickets to go very quickly.”
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at cedarfallsragbrai.org/concert; by phone at 319-273-4TIX; or at the UNItix ticket outlets at McLeod Center and the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on the UNI campus.
